Background

Born in 1981, Bobbie Powell lives in West Palm Beach. A Palm Beach Gardens High School graduate, he has a BS in Journalism from Florida A&M and a MS in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State. He is currently employed as a Project Manager at Urban Design Kilday Studios.

After a stint as assistant to then State Representative Mack Bernard, Bobbie Powell was elected to the FH88 seat in 2012 with 51% of the vote in a 4-way primary race and has served two terms, being unopposed in 2014. He was vice-chair of the Palm Beach County Legislative delegation.

He favors limits on gun rights, allowing local governments to restrict concealed carry at events and venues, "banning the box" to make it easier for the convicted to obtain employment, and has called for an independent investigation into the death of Corey Jones.
