Robert Weinroth (D) |
Background Boca resident Robert Weinroth is an attorney and served as president and general counsel of Freedom Medical Services, Inc, a Boca medical supply company. He has a BS in Management from Northeastern, and a JD from New England School of Law. As a businessman, he worked at AIG as president of a claims subsidiary, and a senior analyst for a Jacksonville managment consultant firm. He has been the president of several Boca area HOAs and on the board of two synagogues and school advisory councils, and volunteers as a Guardian ad Litem. He served on the Boca City Council from 2014-2018, where he held the posts of Deputy Mayor and CRA Vice-chair, and served on the boards of the Boca Airport authority, Palm Tran, and the PBTPA, the TCPC and the League of Cities. In 2012, he ran unsuccessfully for Property Appraiser, getting 30% of the countywide vote against then incumbent Gary Nikolits. On policy, his plans lacked specifics, but he was interested in supporting the schools by "finding additional dollars", being a global leader on "climate change", and implementing "sensible gun safety" measures - particularly overturning the Florida preemption laws to allow local governments to ban firearms. Although he says he wants to insure transparency in Government, he has been silent on support for the Inspector General. |
