Background

David Silvers was born in Florida in 1979, and raised in Boca Raton where he currently lives. He has a BS in Economics from the University of Florida and a joint law degree and MBA from the University of Miami.

President of Tekno Books, LLC, a local publisher, David is actively involved with several non-profits and service organizations including his Rotary Club, Young Friends of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.

In 2016, his platform included accepting the Obamacare money for Medicaid expansion, believes that the district is at risk from global warming, opposes fracking and the increased use of fossil fuels, and opposes school choice options such as charter schools and vouchers. He would support restoring voting rights for felons and online voter registration.

David Silvers was elected to this seat in 2016, winning 54% of the vote in the Democrat primary. In 2018, he defeated Edgardo Hernandez with 63%. There was no Republican challenger.
