Description

The Port of Palm Beach District covers the area between Donald Ross Road and Southern Boulevard, from the ocean to Lake Okeechobee - approximately 50% of Palm Beach County. All five elected commissioners, divided into groups, must live within this district and all five are voted on by all registered voters living in this district (at-large), for a four year term.

Wayne M. Richards (D)
INCUMBENT

Background

Wayne Richards was born in 1963 and currently lives in West Palm Beach. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University and a JD from the University of Michigan.

A Commissioner since 2001, Richards graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University and a law degree from the University of Michigan. He brings experience in real estate and business law, land use, zoning and governmental affairs to implement his vision for the Port.

A graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County, Richards is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, NAACP, and Caribbean American for Community Involvement (CAFCI). He enjoys quality time with his wife, Elrika, and their two daughters.
